Welcome!

Just a brief introduction. My name is Joan Manning and I have been involved in health and fitness since a very young age. I started swimming competitively from the age of 11 to 14 years old, and, also, ran Cross Country and Track from middle school through high school. As an adult, I still run and, have been training in the martial arts since 1999. After earning both a B.S. and M.S. in Psychology, I decided to go a different route and enrolled in massage school. I began my career as a massage therapist in 1996 by earning my initial certifications in Swedish Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy. After studying numerous modalities over the years, I decided to devote my practice to Manual Lymph Drainage Therapy (Vodder Method) and Fascia Stretch Therapy. I have been certified in Manual Lymph Drainage Therapy since 1998 and, more recently, I became certified in Fascial Stretch Therapy (Level 3 practitioner).

I provide Manual Lymph Drainage Therapy for Lymphedema/Lipedema patients; Pre- and Post-Surgical care (Plastic surgery, knee replacement, hip replacement, reconstructive, etc); and general inflammation in the body due to allergies, sinusitis, poor digestion, circulatory issues, etc.

Fascial Stretch Therapy goes beyond just stretching of the fascia, muscles and joints, it affects all systems of the body. The benefits of Fascial Stretch Therapy are numerous and diverse as fascia is all encompassing. I like to call it deep tissue massage using stretch and movement rather than deep pressure, kneading, and pain. As a result, clients feel a sense of peace, lightness, and relaxation after a session rather than feeling like they have been "beat up". I have found that people of all ages and walks of life can benefit from this amazing form of therapy!
